Because I love Celeb Gossip

Well, to be honest I haven't even ever really watched the hit show Jon & Kate plus 8, but I sure know who Kate Gosselin is. And she bought a condo in the town square where we live! It is kinda crazy, but if you want a better idea of the place where we live, check out this link that will show you the news report confirming the rumor...

Kate moves to Rockville MD

If you look close, you see a quick glimpse of one of our guys (Spencer) walking down the side walk. I was kinda let down I wasn't on the report :( I was out in the square with my dog Max while they were filming for the report! JK

The tale of Maximus and the Chicken Bone

Once upon a time there was a West Highland Terrier named Maximus. Maximus lived with his owners Camron and Stacy at the Rockville Town Center. He was a very loved pup, who often got many treats from the dinner table. One Sunday afternoon, Camron was having an after church snack of Buffalo wings. He thought Maximus would love to devour the excess chicken meat off the chicken bone. Little did he know Maximus would swallow the entire bone in one bite!!!

So Maximus was taken to the Animal Emergency room where these lovely portraits were taken...

You can see the bone right here..^.........It was just chillin in his stomach!!

Here is an enlarged view of the bone....

We were sent home with our options and given the night to think about what to do...either take the risk of letting it pass on its own (could potentially cause worse problems) OR have the vet go in and take the bone out of the stomach. The next morning, I called for a second opinion and found a nice vet willing to take another xray and charge me half price, just to see what the bone had done over night...

Low and behold, there is no visible chicken bone on the second set of xrays! The bone had broken down to small enough pieces that it is passing through his intestines with NO PROBLEMS!!! I was shocked, the vet was shocked, and Max is one lucky pup!!

I know it seems silly, but thanks for those of you who prayed for Max! He seems healthy and happy and back to normal.

Flowers

We went to the National Botanical Gardens today! I love all the flowers, they are so unique and so perfect. It is a very calming place. In the main entrance, they have flowers, fountains, and music playing. I just thought I would share a few of my favorite and crazy flowers!

How Can you not feel better and more relaxed after looking at all those flowers!!

Harry Potter Let Down

You may read the heading to this post and think that I didn't like the new Harry Potter movie. Well I wish I could tell you if I liked it or not! We had bought tickets to go see Harry Potter last night and were way excited!! We went up to the theater about 45 min early thinking that would be plenty of time to get in line. As we got close to the theater, there were literally HUNDREDS of people in front! I thought no way, we are going to have crapy seats and not get to sit together!!!

We finally saw a worker and I asked where the line was for our show time; This is when the major LET DOWN comes into play. The theaters had filled with smoke, they evacutated everyone (hence the hundreds of people), and no one was allowed back in the theater for the rest of the night!!! BUMMER!! Our tickets are redeemable for another show time, but we didn't get to see it last night. I guess once I have seen it I will let you know if I liked it!

Weekend Adventure

Yesterday I drove up to Lancaster PA. Now, you may ask why I would drive just over two hours through the rolling hills of Maryland and Pennsylvania - Well, my Grandma, Aunt and two of my cousins were all meeting there and I decided to drive up too!! I was a beautiful drive and I took Max with me to keep me company. Lancaster is filled with Amish villages. Everywhere you went there were horse drawn buggies, farmers markets and even a train museum.

At dinner my Grandma was telling me about her Great Grandpa, Joseph Skeen. He was from Lancaster PA. There is a little old church he was married in before he joined the church. He then went on to Nauvoo. The rest of his relatives stayed in Lancaster and some are even burried there! It was neat to be able to see the area where my great, great, great Grandpa grew up!

So I realized lately I have sucked at taking pictures (we get home from something awesome- ie: six flags, ocean city, pool parties...and I either forgot my camera, never even got it out, or the battery was dead!!) Anyways...here are some of the FEW pics I took, including my favorite view on the 495!

My cousin's new baby, Sadie

If you have never seen the DC Temple in person, you know this doesn't EVEN do it justice, But I can't get over how amazing it looks when you are driving on the freeway

Girls Camp

The Bishop of the ward here in Rockville asked me and my sister- in- law Dantzelle to go help with girls camp. We got to go up this whole last week and spend some time with these lovely ladies!! I had a great time and loved getting to know the young women of the ward out here. They are such amazing girls with the sweetest spirits!

*our camp was five miles from Camp David, and based on all the helicopters, and "extra" camp rangers roaming our campground, we think the president was there!
