Let's hear it for New York!!

All of us Hanna girls took an AWESOME vacay to NYC!!!!

We had a great time. Lots of walking, sightseeing, shopping, eating, pictures, more walking, and more eating! We stayed right in times square and made it to most the normal tourist sights. We ate at some yummy places, but my favorite would have to be TONY Di Napoli's. It is a yummy family style Italian place :)

I wish we could have stayed longer. Hopefully we will get to do it again soon!

4th of July in Utah!!

I haven't been in Utah in the 4th of July in 7 years!!!

It was so fun to be home with family. It was a jam packed 2 weeks. We watched the Layton City Parade and Fireworks, had a family BBQ, and I decided to run a 5k!

It was also my dad's birthday while I was there. Both of my siblings were in town as well. My mom surprised my dad with a crazy present....SKYDIVING!! I didn't want him to have to go alone, so I volunteered to go with him. Then Nate and Kris decided to join the fun :) We had a blast and no one even peed their pants from anxiety, Ha!

That Sunday, my newest nephew, Carter was blessed.

Nate and I took his kids hiking up Adams Canyon. We saw two snakes, Yikes!

I was able to do a lot more. Including dinner with my in laws, celebrating Addy's b-day, and visiting a friend's new baby! It was a great visit home. I can't wait until we get to go home to Utah and stay for the winter.

***DUCKLING UPDATE***
We moved two days after the ducklings hatched. I had a found a preservation farm about 10 min from our apartment that was willing to take the ducklings. They had a ton of ducklings already!!

Little Ducklings

In the beginning of this month, I was walking Max around our apartment complex and he chased a duck out of a bush. She was angry and wasn't leaving. I peeked in the bush and she had a nest in there, so we left her alone. Over the next several days, we walked passed an checked in on her.

Then, two weeks ago, we walked passed her nest and saw the mom duck out in the road. She had been run over and was dead. It was so sad! So, I called my dad and he told me I could try to get the eggs inside into a warm spot.

I brought them in a put a heating lamp over them. And we waited, and waited and waited. I had been candling them and knew they were still alive and growing.

Yesterday two of the eggs pipped (cracked) and today they hatched!!! two more have since pipped and I hope the will hatch in the morning.

Memorial Day Weekend

On Sunday we got to go down to the Pitt apartments and have a family dinner for Jessica's Bday. I made a red velvet cake from Bakerella that was delish...I used a whole thing of red gel food coloring and mine wasn't near as red as the one on bakerella.

On Memorial Day, Eva found a fun pool about 40 minutes from us. It is supposedly the largest pool in the genius book of world records...It was pretty large (and a little WT)

Tuesday we did a pool party for the guys. They have been working so hard and definitely earned the famous "Coin Dive" We had about $600 in silver dollars, half dollars and quarters in the pool. It's always entertaining to watch the guys fight for coins :) Cam also gave out $100 for the best belly flop! And Cam and Max hard at work....

Keeping Busyish...

In the life of summer sales I don't get to see Cam much. But luckily there are other wives out here that help pass the time. Besides my cake class I have...

Gone to an indoor water park in Erie PA with Megan

Met up with my sis-in-laws in Pitt for lunch

Gone to the Columbus OH Temple with Megan and Jessica

And various birthday lunches with the girls in our office. (I always forget to take a pic though)

This weekend we are going down to the Pitt Office on Sunday to see the rest of Cam's family. It will be nice to see everyone! And of course, Max will get to see his girlfriend Journee!! He has been pretty bored here with just me.

Cake-O-Licious

I have been taking a Wilton Cake decorating class at the JoAnns by us. I have played with piping and different tips, but have always wanted to take a class to learn technique! And I finally had a reason to by all the decorating tips and actually know what I am supposed to do with each one!!

The first week we mainly learned about making icing, preparing our supplies, and the nitty gritty stuff. Then, we practiced the basic star tip on some cookies....

Our second week we had to make a cake, tort it, ice it, and decorate it. I made a carrot cake and thought cream cheese frosting would be yummy. I found a recipe for Wilton Cream Cheese and thought it would work - it was pretty soft, so I had to make do with what I had.

This week we learned some different flower techniques, then practiced icing cupcakes! I was really excited to learn how to swirl cupcakes!! We also learned how to fill cupcakes. I probably could use some practice. When I finally cut into one of mine, it was pretty skimpy on the filling.

Next week we are making a another cake and learning to do the roses...we will see how they turn out!
